Hello Monday!

Posted on April 13, 2026 by jlsoryu

Another Monday! How’s everyone doing out there?

I do def want to try and get into a habit of doing more recaps/updates here weekly but finding the time and words has been a bit tricky, hopefully this will make up for it!

So where shall we start?

Well last week was pretty jam packed with plenty of gaming and a rare trip to the cinema for me! We had three streams last week, I completed a game off stream and started a new one! So let’s talk about it!

Two Worlds…

What an absolutely bloody good time we had with this one!

Okay look, I’m not going to make any big claims about this being a good or great game, but I am going to say that it’s certainly not the worst game you could play, with the caveat that you don’t play it on the 360, which really seemed to struggle with it!

I grew to have a weird sort of love for this game, not to the point where I think I could give it anymore more than a six out of ten at most, but I definitely feel some affection for this one. It’s one of those games that was just so easy to pick up and play, there was a fair amount of depth and things to do, and all things said, it was a good laugh.

For the unaware, Two Worlds is an open world RPG not dissimilar to your Oblivions or Skyrims. Unfortunately, it is a little bit limited in terms of the character creation, you can’t choose your gender or voice, but have some appearence customization. Once you’ve made a character you’re popped into the game world and thrown into a story surrounding your missing sister, your families history and a weird cult looking for some artifacts.

It’s standard fantasy fayre, but it is propped up by some absolutely bonkers voice acting, a world that looks ugly and pretty at the same time, and some pretty decent combat mechanics!

Give it a go if you find it cheap enough, you might be surprised!

Jak & Daxter

Last week was the third time we’ve played Jak & Daxter and I’m continuuing to enjoy it, but also find out new mechanics, who’d have thought there was a way to do a long/big jump in game? Certainly not me…

There isn’t too much to say here, it’s a lovely platformer with a nice challenge to it, but also not too much punishment if you make a mistake, I can see why it was so lauded back in the day and I look forward to completing it on stream in a couple of weeks!

Binary Domain

Now that we are done with Two Worlds, we move to another Xbox 360 game, this one from 2012 and by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios, aka the people who brought us the Yakuza series!

Binary Domain is a name I’ve heard of for quite a while, it’s supposed to be a bit of a hidden gem on the system. Came out, did okay with the critics, around the low 70s on Metacritic but poor sales!

Looking back though, people look at it fondly and one of those XB360 titles that deserved better!

Although we are only an hour or so in, I can see me really enjoying it. It’s just a lovely, solid and comforting XB360 era cover shooter. Some really nice enemies, gorgeous graphics and so far a pretty intrigueing plot! Watch this space to see how things develop!

Other Games I Played!

Outside of streams I’ve been playing a few other cheeky little games, one called Metal Gear Solid, I dunno, never really made much of a splash! Not sure what the creator of it is up to nowadays!

Sarcasm aside, I adored MGS1 back when it came out, I remember playing the demo of it and initially bouncing off of it, little 10 year old me didn’t understand this thing called stealth and was put off by the immense realism of how enemies reacted to you!

I gave it a few goes though and I grew to LOVE that demo, completed it so many times and then eventually got the full game. I didn’t understand a bloody thing of the plot tbh beyond “Stop nuke launching robot” but I didn’t care, I LOVED hown it played and nearly thirty years later, it is still just as good as when it released!

I won’t go into it too much, but I also played through the Lost video game for my next video! I was a huge fan of the series back in the day, so was always intrigued by the game, I won’t say too much but… it’s certainly a game I have played!

I’ve also finally started Code Vein 2, it’s an open world SoulsLike with an anime style. I really enjoyed the first one, thought the plot was pretty damn good and it was a bit more approachable than a typical SoulsLike, which was a nice break in between the harder ones.

So far it’s been good! A little bit overwhelming with the mechanics thrown at me, but the gameplay is solid enough. Will be neat to see how it continues.

Project Hail Mary

Welcome to my new obsession!

I wrapped up the book just the other week, it made me cry, something a book hasn’t really done before outside of manga, so I had to go see the film!

It made me cry 5 times!

Now making me cry isn’t too difficult, I am a sucker for certain tropes and Project Hail Mary hits a lot of them, but this is just such a wonderful film. It’s uplifting, it’s touching, it’s visually beautiful and the soundtrack is SO bloody good.

I won’t say too much about the plot, but I think they did the book proud! It is one I’ll be sure to watch again when it’s out on 4K and I’ll be buying that soundtrack on VInyl when it releases!

So, that’s about it for the week!

This week we have more Jak & Daxter to look forward to on Thursday, more Binary Domain on Saturday! I’ll also be popping up a video about the Lost video this weekend hopefully and will have some ZX Spectrum content in coming!

Until then, thank ye so much for reading! Cya again soon!
