I don’t really plan on turning this site into a news resource or anything but I really must give a shout out to the lovely people working over at Blaze on the Evercade! It’s become one of my absolute fav devices since I got it a few years ago. Offering some fantasticly curated retro experiences with its many and varied cartridges on offer.<\/p>\n\n\n

For those not aware, the Evercade, which first released back in 2020, is now a series of handheld devices (Well, barring the one home console variant) made for playing bespoke cartridges and aimed at us retro collectors. These cartridges are generally compilations covering a few titles from a specific publisher\/developer but sometimes it can be a platform or a genre. It’s lovely with a range of games from early 80s Atari, C64 items, Rare, Bitmap Brothers, Codemasters, Delphine and collections centered around Duke Nukem and Turrican. There is definitely something for everyone out there and it’s really cool to have a physical curated experience for gaming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My Evercade is a little bit out of date now, being one of the earlier models and I’m eyeing up the new Nexus model releasing later this year because they’ve only gone and announced a Doom compilation for the device, as well as kicked off a new round of promo for the already announced Banjo Kazooie compilation, which is one of my fav 3D Platformers!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
